Before Christmas I finally got my act together and put a years worth of training into action. I’ve been training in the genre of Modern Glamour with a world class leading photographer from New Zealand, but more on the details of that little adventure in another post.
As part of the process I gathered together a small team of hair stylists and make-up artists including Chantal Hughes.
Owning her own Esthetics business (Chantal’s Esthetics.ca) she is also an accomplished visual artist and, to my good fortune a wonderful make-up artist. She totally understands the difference between makeup for studio lighting and natural day light. She makes my job a lot easier!
She was also rather heavily pregnant when she committed to a series of 9 intense Glamour sessions.
With her own business, my glamour sessions and a toddler to run after, to my great pleasure she was also keen to have her second pregnancy captured by me. With only 2 weeks to her due date and with a heavy cold she brought her family into the studio for a few intimate family portraits, a few Glamour-esque portraits as seen here, plus my own range of artistically lit pregnancy “nudes”.
These are my favourite images to capture and the genre that I’ve been working in since the beginning of my portrait business almost 20 years ago
