As many will know, sailing is my summer vice, my weakness…my obsession!
Over the short sailing season that we have here in NW Ontario (5 months at best!) I am out there on the worlds largest fresh water lake, on average twice a week…rain or shine, racing with my crew mates of 10 years+!
Over the season, weather and conditions allowing I bring my camera along and grab what ever shots I can between hauling halliards, dropping sails, raising spinnakers and trimming jibs.
At the end of the sailing season the Thunder Bay Yacht Club holds a “Close of Navigation”, a gala event were we all get a chance to dress up and guess who’s who as trophies are awarded, we enjoy a sumptuous meal and dance the night away!
I also put on small presentation of my images from the season and provide media “service” for any speeches and awards.
It’s a labour of love…big LOVE! I wouldn’t have it any other way!
